Anti-piracy adverts are easily the most redundant aspect of the movie-watching experience, a tiresome side-effect we have grown to resent ever since we were told to "check whether
this videocassette carries a genuine label hologram." But wouldn't that mean ejecting it?
2009 will be remembered as a great year for cinema. Sci-fi underwent a renaissance the kind of which hasn't been seen since the seventies. 3D made a comeback, and Avatar almost made it worthwhile. This was a year that saw old favourites return with new polish, as well as the dawn of brave new worlds which we'll no doubt return to more than once.

For all the clones, evil doppelgangers, time-travelled future versions and doubles from alternate realities that have appeared in movies over the years, appearances of actual twin siblings, identical or otherwise, are rarer than a Spielberg movie without daddy issues.
